Intelligent sensor technology from EPnP Medical
Ottronic E-Systems GmbH, a member of EPnP Medical GmbH, has developed a self-sustaining sensor system for vital sign monitoring that enables wireless communication to the cloud and is no larger than a standard remote control. Originally designed for medical technology, the system also meets the highest requirements in medical and industrial technology. In a specific project, the sensor system is employed to capture vital data from trees, particularly to detect water stress and facilitate tailored irrigation in the face of climate change. The sensor system addresses similar requirements as in human medicine, including autonomous operation without an external power source, wireless communication, resilience to harsh environmental conditions, and seamless integration.
